Days 046–052 · Morning
Quiet on the site, buried in shipping
Project · Life of AI — in progress
Been a little quiet on Life of AI for the past week, but definitely not inactive.
Most of my time has been going into actual client production work — taking projects from design and staging through the messy final stretch before launch.
The last several days have basically been:
Code → design → AI image → client revision → code → mobile test → email integration → payment test → deployment → another revision.
I have not posted much because I have been buried in shipping.
What the week actually looked like
Behind the scenes I have been working through:
- Full website redesigns and production deployments
- Stripe payment flows and live payment testing
- Twilio SMS notifications
- Transactional email delivery and DNS configuration
- Mobile responsiveness and final UI cleanup
- AI-generated and AI-edited marketing imagery
- Video concepts for commercial websites
- PDF and document updates inside existing application workflows
- Form submissions, automated emails, and lead notifications
- Production checklists and end-to-end QA
One lane has been rebuilding a service business website with online purchasing, automated PDF delivery, Stripe payments, SMS alerts, transactional email, and a refreshed visual system.
Another has been rebuilding a commercial energy website while creating custom AI-assisted photography and video concepts that actually match the client's equipment, locations, and branding.
Favorite use of AI right now
This is probably my favorite use of AI right now.
Not "AI replacing development."
AI sitting beside development, design, marketing, QA, copywriting, and deployment — helping one person move across all of those disciplines much faster.
What I love about the current toolset is how quickly I can move between roles:
Developer. Designer. Creative director. Copywriter. QA. DevOps. Marketing.
Those used to feel like completely separate workflows. Now they increasingly feel like one connected creative-development process.
The AI is not doing the job for me.
It is making the distance between an idea and a working production implementation a whole lot shorter.
The part that still matters
One thing AI continues to change for me: how much ground one person can realistically cover.
The important part is still knowing what "good" looks like.
AI can draft the email, generate image options, scaffold a payment flow, and spit out five versions of homepage copy before lunch.
What it cannot do is decide when the mobile layout is actually done, when the brand feels off, when the payment edge case matters, or when "good enough to ship" is better than another round of polish.
That judgment still has to come from the person doing the work.
AI expands the surface area one person can cover.
Taste, standards, and final responsibility are still the job.
More behind-the-scenes updates coming. Still shipping.
